MERYL STREEP’S GOD

This is my very first collaboration with a painter. This was my chance to play “Art Director.” My first shot working with a particular artist whom I gave a long leash in terms of style. I wanted to see what he’d bring to the table in terms of creative skills. I love it when you ask for a certain something only to have them show up with something better than I first thought.

We see Weinstein as The OSCAR statuette having his head licked by a woman from above. Paltrow cries, McGowan spreads, Judd calculates what she has to do for a lick, while Thurman dreams of something to stick in her mouth to smoke.

GREATEST GROPER

Laying in bed my wife knew I was uneasy about what we were about to do. I’d never hit a billboard before and this time it wasn’t going to be me up there. I‘d be directing from below. Admittedly I’ve found myself up high on more than a few occasions and I’m not 100% comfortable with it. A few weeks earlier we’d dropped a huge MAGA / DEPLORABLE banner from a tall building during Shepard Fairey’s “DAMAGED” show and that was exciting enough.

I’d roll played everything that could possibly go wrong or right and I insisted my guys do the same. That way no matter what happened up there it wouldn’t be unexpected. It seemed as though I was in another dimension watching the hit go down. It seemed too perfect, too fast, it played out exactly the way I’d seen it in my head.

We were sandwiched by two police cars. The first drove past just as we pulled into this dark spot to unload. The second just after we finished and made our way to 711 for a drink. They sat out there forever looking up at that billboard. I was picturing them laughing their asses off. They had every opportunity in the world to snatch us. I mean there we were four guys dressed in black walking across the street, now trapped in a convenience store. I guess we lucked out.

This was a case study in how to ride a news story. I’d known about the two women coming out against Al Franken two to three days before they did so I timed this hit for when that happened. As much as I wanted to do this hit I started to think Franken was old news leaving this story without the kind of interest that would give it coverage in the press but when I’d heard about these two new accusations, I knew it was game on all over again for Al. On top of that story, this billboard was advertising an up coming movie being put out by Fox Studios which meant it would benefit Fox’s news services to run with the story. When they contacted me for permission to run with an interview nationwide. I would have been crazy to say no. The story was now going viral not only nation wide but world wide. And that my friends is how you time a creative hit to get the most exposure.

Susan Hirasuna from a local Fox News affiliate came by my studio to interview me and girl she was looking to go for the jugular. She started off nice enough but … sure as the sun comes up in the East her inner Leftist came out and tried pouncing on me. Sadly for her she didn’t know who she was messing with. I’ve been around the block a few times.

VIDEO ESSAY #2

I was scouting for locations in LA the other day for new places to hit when I creeped up on this poster advertising this huge art show being held in the old Tower Records building on Sunset. Gibson Guitars presents Billy Morrison and Plastic Jesus.

2. I’ve run across Billy from time to time and I can’t think of a bad thing to say about him, hell everyone I know who knows him has nothing but nice things to say about him and I don’t have a problem believing them. Although I’ve never heard him play I have to imagine he’s an amazing lead guitarist because he’s played and probably still plays with some amazing groups … but that aside … I never knew he was an artist.

After doing a little research I found that he’s a new talent in the art world and God bless him I hope he does well. But to have such a huge art show at such an amazing place right out the gate. I haven’t seen anyone mauever their way into the art world like this since that ass clown Mr. Brainwash bought his way onto the scene.

Personally I hate being in art shows. That’s why I rarely show in galleries. I enjoy shooting the shit with the people who are kind enough to show up, it just takes a lot out of me. I’m not exactly a sociable person. The only thing I like about art shows is crashing them and draining them of their free drinks. That’s about all most of them are worth.

Now this Plastic Jesus guy, his art I know a little about and I’ve never got him. I don’t think there’s much to get. I’ve seen his art in a number of shows and as far as I’m concerned he has some skill in execution, not extraordinary skills but skills. His message is about as basic left wing as it gets. Same old tired liberal crap but not so over the top leftist that I have enough of an opinion to even give him much thought.

Until I saw this one piece I noticed when I dropped into this show.

It was a mock Barbie piece making a statement about mass shootings and American culture. Just another typical Brit taking a jab at the America. 1. Like we’re not tired of hearing this kind of shit, particularly from people who are guests in our country 2. like anyone from Britain has any room to talk shit about how fuck up this country is.

News flash Plastic Jesus, for what ever reasons you left your native Brtania to live here, not there. It’s called voting with your feet.

I mean how much of an asshole would I be if I moved to Paris only to give them shit about the number of people who become obese because of the amount of baggets they consume in a given year and how it offends my gluten free life style. or if I start insisting they speak English to make my stay there more pleasant because I don’t speak French.

If they picked my ass up and tossed me on a boat the hell out of there … let’s just say, I’d understand.

But back to the art show.
Most everything in the show was your basic Banksyisque stenciling. Actually some of the pieces, I thought, were direct Banksy rip offs. But whatever! I”m used to seeing bad art at just about every art show I run across. I did a lap around the show then left. The only piece I saw that made any impression on me was that Barbie piece. A piece Plastic Jesus didn’t even have the balls to call a “Barbie” piece for fear of getting sued by Mattel. Instead he called it “Baddie.”

Which I find hilarious because this is a guy who not only uses a fake name because he’s supposedly some rebel street artist but who also covers his face to hide his identity. … … … and still he’s worried about getting sued. :/ The whole point of covering … … … never mind.

Shit! I remember I used to cover my face not only because I didn’t want to get arrested but because I didn’t want to get blacklisted in town. At the time I had a “normal” job. Not to mention every other street artist was doing it at the time and I thought that was gay. So when the Secret Service decided to knock on my door I kinda figured they did me a favor letting the cat was out of the bag in terms of my identity.

So no more mask for me.

But back to being sued by Mattel.
A few years back I created this piece I called “Abortion Barbie” to screw with this lady Wendy Davis who was running for the Governorship of Texas. Her claim to fame was filibustering in support of Late term abortions. Now don’t get me wrong, I believe a woman should have the right to do with her body as she sees fit however there does come a time in a pregnancy that that small lump of cells becomes a person. In my opinion late term abortions are nothing more than pure butchery. So I enjoyed making this piece and the last thing on my mind was if Mattel was going to come after me. Shit! come at me! make me famous.

And I knew Senator Wendy Davis wasn’t going to come after me because she was too busy making hundreds of thousands of dollars using my art to generate campaign contributions.

From what I understand many on her staff were telling her to not give my work any attention but instead she ran with it which in the end, I believe, caused her to stumble and not put her focus where it needed to be. I say this because she was trying to distance herself from the name “Abortion Barbie” but my piece slammed it right back into her face. She eventually lost to now Republican Governor of Texas Greg Abbott.

So there I was standing out in the sidewalk wishing I has said something. Wishing I’d confronted the artist. … wishing … scared. Yeah scared, because like most everyone we try avoiding confrontations. and I believe the Left relies on this. People on the Right are generally mid mannered people who don’t like to stir the shit. When we see something we don’t like, for the most part, we just shrug it off and move on. But not this time. I remembered something Steve Bannon said recently, ‘these militant Leftists aren’t going to give us our country back, their not going to surrender the hold they have on the culture or the narrative. We’re going to have to fight to take it back. So I marched my happy little ass right back inside that gallery show to confront Plastic Jesus about what he meant by this piece and American culture.

Well actually first I walked across the street for a few beers then I marched my happy little ass in there. 😉 Here is that unedited clip … the only “edits” are the commentaries I made overlapping the video.

A large percentage of people who go on these shooting rampages are either on or coming off of prescriptionion medication. A rhetorical question because the Left has no interest in truly solving this problem. If they did they’d go after big pharm. But they don’t. Mass shootings are a means to an end for the Left, that being the complete confiscation of firearms and the abolishment of the 2nd Amendment. Hell considering 95% if not more of the people who go on mass shootings are democrats or non-republicans if they really wanted to put an end to mass shootings they’d make it illegal for democrats to own firearms. BOMB! a 90% drop in mass shootings over night.

I wanna feel bad about making a video like this because a swipe like this is pretty mean and I really don’t know this guy Plastic Jesus guy. For all I know he’s a good person I’d dig hanging out with, maybe a friend. … then again I remembered … we’re in the mist of a new civil war, a war of cultures. And those on the Left have had a free ride long enough. No more. If and when you can confront these people. Like Steve Bannon siad, lets put them in their place and take our country back.

This video stuff is new to me. I do 100% of the production so I hope you appreciate the effort I’m putting into this. If you do please take the time to subscribe to this channel. I’d appreciate it.

IJR Interview

There’s very little I can write that will do justice to the interview that the IJR team did so I’ll just provide a link and hope that you take the time to visit that page. Here’s the link: IJR Interview

For whatever reason wants to visit me they insist I break the law for them by putting up street art while they interview me. The IJR team was a class act. They reminded me of all the young hard drivers I worked with during the start-ups in the mid 90’s.

And there she was. There always seems to be a young woman on the reporter team who stands in the back seething at me for God only knows what reason. You can almost see the “I’m with Hillary” tattoo sticking out from under her sleeve.

The evening of this interview coincided with what I remember being the second Republican debate in Simi Valley, California. I shit you not, it started to rain! It never rains in SoCal! But that didn’t stop us.

During the hit we noticed a police SUV trolling around. Nerves were seriously on edge but I pressed on. I saw that cruiser drive passed but for whatever reason they just kept going. I guess it was the hard hat or yellow vests we were wearing.

When I hit the back of the bus with a pro-Cruz poster I heard one of the reporters say, “Oh my God! My heart is racing so fast. I swear I saw a police car drive by. I haven’t had an adrenalin rush like that in a while.”

SHOOT BACK

A black and white image of the acronym for drywall.

After 49 people were gunned in a gay bar in Orlando, Florida the gay community was left in shock. My only question was how long was it going to take for them and the “Progressive” Left to blame anything, anyone other than the gay hating Muslim that perpetuated this crime. … It’s didn’t take long. Within days anyone who questioned Mateen’s motives were called “Islamophobic,” within days the same cast of characters were blaming America, the 2nd Amendment, and what they call a “gun culture.” Once again our left-wing government found itself standing on the bodies of dead people to further their own empowerment by pushing ever more restrictive gun laws. And like the stooges that they are “progressives” bought Big Government’s line of propaganda hook, line, and sinker.

We had a different idea.

First off this was not my idea or graphic image. This “SHOOTBACK” image was produced by some friends or to be more precise a committee of like minded activists who needed to have a say in this conversation. They asked me to produce and distribute the posters for them. When the press started calling, said group asked me to be their spokes person of sorts.

I’d like to think that I had some influence with the final design in that originally it had a “pro-gay” sound to it. I suggested it have more a “pro-gun” feel, more of a defense of the 2nd Amendment because in the end the ability to defend yourself applies to everyone. Without that right you’re left at the mercy of the amount of time it takes for a police officer to respond.

On June 12, 2016, Omar Mateen, a 29-year-old security guard, killed 49 people and wounded 53 others in a terrorist attack/hate crime inside Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, United States. He was shot and killed by Orlando Police Department (OPD) officers after a three-hour standoff. Pulse was hosting Latin Night and most of the victims were Latino. It was the deadliest mass shooting by a single shooter, the deadliest incident of violence against LGBT people in United States royalpharmacyrx.com history, and the deadliest terrorist attack in the United States since the September 11 attacks in 2001.

In a 9-1-1 call shortly after the shooting began, Mateen swore allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. He later told a negotiator he was “out here right now” because of the American-led interventions in Iraq and in Syria, and that the negotiator should tell the United States to stop bombing ISIL.

Initial reports said Mateen may have been a patron of the nightclub and used gay dating websites and apps, but Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officials said they have not found any credible evidence to substantiate these claims. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) also conducted an investigation and said it found no links between ISIL and Mateen.

REASON TV Interview

Originally Alex, the guy interviewing me, wanted to cover what he considered “THE CONSERVATIVE STREET ART MOVEMENT” but after our first meeting I believe he decided to just run with a story about me.

As vain as it sounds I was cool with that because at the time I couldn’t think of too many other people out there doing what I was doing. I definitely couldn’t think of anyone doing it for as long as I had been anyway. To be straight out with you, I starved alone doing this for a loooooong time before anyone else came around. So I’d be lying if I said I wanted to share the spotlight with anyone who just came on the scene. Maybe that makes me a dick, all I know is that I found myself standing there looking at these other new crews trying to do what I do and ask myself “who the hell are you guys and where have you been all these years?” It was my opinion they saw money in what I did and they decides to make a business of it. … … … I wish I’d of thought of that!

I have to admit that throughout the filming I was waiting for Alex the interviewer to break out a badge, to have a SWAT kick in my door and arrest me in the process of making posters. Thankfully that never happened.

Make sure to read the comments on the youtube page of this interview, a lot of angry people out there. 😉

This was an interesting story to me on so many levels. This was my third nice paying gig as a street artist. For years I did what I did because it was what I felt I had to do and I enjoyed doing it. The thought of getting paid for it was so alien to me it’s crazy.

So I get this phone call from a friend telling me Breitbart wanted to meet me to do some art for them. I’d heard of them but not much. The stories of Andrew were very fresh especially considering he’d just passed away somewhat recently. Being a political junky I’d already spent years mainlining political news right when it started. By the time Breitbart, Glenn Beck and that crowd were up and running I was down shifting so I didn’t really get a good enough dose of the new guard. Strangely enough the people who did follow Breitbart were already complaining about the quality of their reporting going down hill. … It was all new to me. ‘Screw it! I’d love to meet with them,’ I thought.

It was hilarious that their offices were right across the street from my thursday night AA meeting. My crazy little world just got a little more colorful I guess. The office area was smaller than I thought I’d be and far less busy. You know how you see in the movies, newsrooms bustling with people throwing papers all over the place, yelling about getting the story out on time. There was none of that. Just a secretary and a few of guys. I was introduced to the team, they all seemed cool, I was into what they needed from me, which was … They wanted me to create and distribute a street poster for the launch. I asked, “why not four? One for each side of the boxes I usually cover.†They liked the idea.

The first idea came out easy. It was of Andrew on a skateboard, catching air with a Hollywood sign under him. At this point I wished I’d of shut my mouth so that would have been it … but again I knew more posters meant more money so … I guess it worked out. Not to mention I managed to piss Nancy Pelosi off with the second poster which was of her twerking in that provocative Molly Cyrus pose. The DNC demanded an apology for that one. They didn’t get it, at least not from me.

The long and short of this story is the launch went fucken awesome!!! A ton of attention for the launch, we pissed off the Left, the posters turned out great. Personally I did way more work than I should have. Even worse I signed the rights to the images away which really pissed me off. I’d never done that before. As gay as this might sound, the images I create are like my children. I don’t like selling them much less signing the rights to them away. I remember been so drunk when I signed the contract that I literally did’t remember signing it.

I could make this a really long story but I’ve already lost interest in writing it so I’ll be brief. I felt at home at Breitbart. Don’t ask me why but I felt like there was a kindred spirit there, like it was my home. I didn’t feel like I was at a job interview or that I was less-than the way I did when I’d find myself interviewing with design firms or ad agencies. I felt good there. I was there to fight and I let them know it.

Right off the bat I let these guys know that I was there to fight and if I for one second I thought they weren’t I’d take their heads. And I meant it. “Andrew didn’t fight for the sake of fighting,†they told me. I guess I could appreciate that but honestly I couldn’t help but wonder how true that was. People often ask me why I’m so angry. I can only respond, “how can you be in times like these?†I also let them know that I had no intentions of being Breitbart’s or anyone’s boy. I’m not sure they got that, “You don’t know how to negotiate do you,†was their response. Even if I was one to negotiate, SABO is not.

I’ll admit to this being a bit odd but I take what I do very seriously. It’s my belief that the more friends I have the less I as SABO can say. So I keep the friends and relationships down to an absolute minimum.

In the end I made sure Breitbart got first crack at every story I created but for whatever reason they refused to run with many of them and if they did they did it so late other news sources were getting the meat of the attention for them. This let me down. This had me believe that they weren’t in it the way I was. Then it pissed me off.

Doing what I do is something that for ten or so years I did completely alone. It hasn’t been until recently that I’ve started working with other people much less selling art. I honestly wish every meeting I’ve had turned out well but it hasn’t turned out that way. As time goes by I learn a little here and a little there in terms of how to deal with people, especially the press. It’s just going to take time.

SABO
